We are pleased to invite you and your esteemed organization to join the INTERNATIONAL TEACHING AID COMPETITION 2018 (iTAC 2018) which will be held on ~~4 May 2018~~ 3 May 2018 at the Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort, Penang. The event is organized by Public Interest Centre of Excellence, (PICE), Universiti Teknologi Mara Kedah and will be held concurrently with the 3rd Technology, Science, Social Sciences and Humanities International Conference (TeSSHI 2018) and the 1st International Conference on Heritage and Civilisation (ICHAC2018)

iTAC 2018 provides opportunities for academics, teachers, trainee teachers, as well as students to share their creative and innovative approaches in teaching. In addition, iTAC2018 creates a platform for them to share ideas on how to best educate the currently global and techno-savvy students.

Participants stand a chance to win gold, silver or bronze medal under each category. Winners will be selected by a panel of esteemed judges who are experts in their field. Certificates of participation will be issued to each group. TeSSHI 2018 Official website: http://pice.uitm.edu.my/tesshi/

Each group should consist of 4 members to entitle the group to the regular entrance fee of RM500. Request for additional member is allowed with additional fee of RM100 per person. Only two additional members are allowed (Maximum 6 members per group). *Meals will be provided to only two members of the group throughout the competition. However, other group members can contact the secretariat prior to the event so that arrangement can be made accordingly.


Presenters must submit a 200-250 word abstract in APA format written either in English or Bahasa Malaysia and a 50-word biodata (please include the lead presenter’s e-mail address). It must be typed in the template provided on the website.

Judging Criteria

iTAC 2018 participants would be judged based on the following four (4) criteria:
i. Originality / Creativity No Novelty and Uniqueness / Creative and Innovative idea
ii. Practicality Usefulness in Solving the problem
iii. Thoroughness Level of completeness of the projects
iv. Presentation skills Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely and to handle judges’ questions effectively

For competition and judging purposes, participants are required to display the actual invention/ prototype/multimedia presentation. No display board would be available. However participants are welcomed to bring a stand-bunting for the purpose of presentation.
We are pleased to invite interested participants to contribute as one of the judges for the competition.
All participants would receive Certificate of Participation and winners of each category would receive a Certificate of Achievement. Additional certificate would be available at a minimal cost.

Event Day

  1. What are the documents needed for the registration on the event day?
    A: Kindly have your proof of payment ready for smooth registration

  2. How is booth / exhibition area prepared?
    A: a. Organizer will provide a table (1 unit), chairs (2 units) and a source of electricity for each group.
    b. No display board will be provided by the organiser.
    c. Participants are encouraged to bring an extension cable on their own.
    d. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own broadband for accessing the Internet.
    e. The advisable bunting size: 3 ft x 6 ft, however no bunting stand will be provided by the organizer.

  3. How will the participants be judged?
    A: a. Participants are advised to make ready prototypes / sample in the form that is easily understood by a panel. However, should prototype is not available, slide presentation using participants’ laptop are welcome.
    b. Participants are encouraged to make available all information in the form of exhibit posters (hanging-type)
